Interested in applying to the 2020 festival? Read below for details!

Q: When is the 2020 festival?
A: The 2020 Annual Grace Fine Art & Craft Festival has been cancelled, due to planning logistic complications from COVID.

Q: Where is the festival located?
A: In the Great Hall, located on the second floor of the Grace Center. The Grace Center is located at 250 E. Juneau Ave., Milwaukee.
In years past, there have been a few vendors on the first floor of the Grace Center as well.

Q: When is the deadline to apply to be an artisan?
A: The application window will open sometime in early 2021.
Questions, please contact the event coordinator, Rachel Proeber, at rproeber@gracedowntown.org or call the office at 414-271-3006.

Q: What does it cost to apply to be an artisan vendor for the festival?
A: The cost to apply to be an artisan vendor for the festival in 2021 is $40 (early bird rate), and $65 (regular rate).
Please note: new this year, you will only pay if and when you are selected as a vendor for the festival--there is no cost to initially apply!

Q: If I apply, do I automatically receive a space at the festival?
A: Selections for the festival are made through a jurying process. All early bird applicants will have their artwork juried by a third-party during the month of July, with regular applicants being juried during the first few weeks of September.
If you are selected for the festival, you will need to pay the application rate to secure your space in the festival.
If you do not pay your application rate within the time frame given, you will forfeit your spot to a runner-up or vendor on the wait list.

Q: How many artisans are chosen for the festival?
The amount of artisans chosen varies, but usually lands somewhere between 25 and 29 artisan vendors.

Q: If chosen for the festival, how big of a space is each artist given?
A: Spaces are 10 ft. by 10 ft., and include two 7 ft. by 15 in. tables.

Q: How many attendees does the festival see?
A: Last year's festival in 2019 saw record-breaking attendance: over 350 guests!
In years past, attendance has varied due to the weather and other factors, but has usually been no lower than 175-250 attendees.

Q: If I am chosen as an artist, can I drop off my items the day-of the event?
A: To ensure the festival can start on time, we require vendors to be available the day before for artist vendor load-in.
Each artist will be able to reserve a two-hour slot within that time frame to load-in their items.
You will be able to request your preference for load-in time on the application.

Q: If it's slow, can I pack up my items and leave early?
A: Since we are advertising the festival will take place 9 a.m.-2 p.m., all artists must stay for the entire duration of the event.
However, many artists begin to pack up the last half-hour of the festival, to ensure a timely load-out.

Q: Can I keep items overnight and pick them up Monday morning?
A: No. Unfortunately since the Grace Center Great Hall is used frequently for rentals on the weekend, including on Sundays, the space must be cleared at the conclusion of the festival. Once the festival ends at 2 p.m., artists have until 4 p.m. on Sunday to load-out all their items.

Q: Are there any other perks to being an artisan at the Grace Fine Art & Craft Festival?
A: Yes! Artists are allotted time the day before to load-in their items. Artists are also given a complimentary breakfast the day-of the rummage, 7 a.m.-8:45 a.m., in the Great Hall. The breakfast is usually comprised of bagels, fruit, juice, and coffee. Artists of the festival also receive free advertising and marketing by Grace Lutheran Church, and will have the event promoted in press releases, and across several social media and online channels and platforms.

Q: What about COVID-19? How will that affect this year's festival?
A: Unfortunately, due to ongoing changes and complications with logistical planning because of COVID, the events department regretfully has cancelled the Grace Fine Art & Craft Festival for 2020.
