Annual Grace Community Rummage
Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023 // 8 a.m.-2 p.m.

Held annually in September, the annual community rummage is an opportunity for Grace's neighbors to use the Grace Center as a space for their own personal rummage sales! Many in the downtown area do not have driveways or lawns for garage or yard sales, so the Grace Center is the perfect location for them! Past rummages have featured gently used clothing, furniture, artwork and home decor, kitchen utensils, toys, and more. And since the event is scheduled right at the start of the school year, it is the perfect opportunity for nearby MSOE students and others to finish furnishing their dorm or apartment!

Q: When is the 2023 rummage sale?
A: The 2023 Annual Grace Community Rummage Sale will take place on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023. The hours for the rummage are 8 a.m.-2 p.m.

Q: Where is the rummage sale located?
A: In the Great Hall, located on the second floor of the Grace Center. There will also be a handful of booths on the first floor.
The Grace Center is located at 250 E. Juneau Ave., Milwaukee.

Q: What does it cost to rent a space at the rummage sale?
A: The cost to rent a space for the annual community rummage in 2023 is $20.

Q: Can I reserve a space at the rummage sale?
A: Yes, but please note that spaces are reserved on a first come, first basis. Reservations are determined by those who pay the reservation fee first.

Q: How big are the spaces I can reserve?
A: Spaces are 10 ft. by 10 ft., and include two 7 ft. by 15 in. tables.

Q: How many attend the rummage sale?
A: There were a record 400+ guests in 2021.
In years past, attendance has varied due to the weather and other factors, but has usually been no lower than 175-200 attendees.

Q: If I am able to be a vendor, can I drop off my items the day-of the event?
A: To ensure the rummage can start on time, we require vendors to be available the day before for rummage load-in.
This year's rummage load-in times are 3-7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 8, 2023.
Each vendor will be able to reserve a two-hour slot within that time frame to load-in their items.

Q: If it's slow, can I pack up my items and leave early?
A: Since we are advertising the rummage will take place 8 a.m.-2 p.m., we encourage all our vendors to stay for the entire duration of the event.
However, many vendors begin to pack up the last half-hour of the rummage, to ensure a timely load-out.

Q: Can I keep items overnight and pick them up Sunday morning?
A: No. Unfortunately since the Grace Center Great Hall is used frequently for rentals on the weekend, including on Sundays, the space must be cleared at the conclusion of the rummage. Once the rummage ends at 2 p.m. on Saturday, vendors have until 4 p.m. day-of to load-out all their items.

Q: Are there any other perks to being a vendor at the Grace community rummage sale?
A: Yes! Vendors are allotted time the day before on Friday, Sept. 8, 2023 to load-in their items. Vendors are also given a complimentary breakfast the day-of the rummage, 7 a.m.-7:45 a.m., in the Great Hall. Grace Place Coffee, the Grace Center's on-site coffee shop, will also be open an hour before the rummage starts so vendors can purchase coffee, espresso drinks and other beverages. Vendors of the Grace community rummage are also given free advertising and marketing by Grace Lutheran Church, and will have the event promoted in press releases, and across several social media and online channels.
