Virtual Sunday School Resources

Grace has always and will continue to promote the spiritual growth of the children of this congregation. We find ourselves faced with a time in which that process will have to become a partnership. This is a great opportunity as Deuteronomy 6 has outlined the church as the resource provider and the parents as the teacher.

Hello parents! COVID-19 has everyone cooped up, services are being live streamed, and Sunday School is cancelled. It might seem like things couldn’t get any worse for spiritual life. The Bible assures us though “that in all things God works for the good of those who love him.” (Romans 8:28) There are many opportunities that lie before us with all these changes. The one I want to highlight is getting involved in your child’s spiritual education!

Deuteronomy 6:6-8 says, “These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” Moses was telling the Israelites what they should do now that they had the Ten Commandments. He had just outlined these commandments and talked about them in chapter 5. Now that the Israelites had received the lesson he wanted parents to teach their children! Moses couldn’t be in everyone’s home to review the Ten Commandments. He couldn’t walk along with every family, as they traveled, to outline the benefits of not stealing. Parents needed to be the teachers of their children. Parents taught their children what they believed so that they could then teach their children. Spiritual growth was a family event, meant to be present in the aspects of everyday life.

Grace has always and will continue to promote the spiritual growth of the children of this congregation. We find ourselves faced with a time in which that process will have to become a partnership. This is a great opportunity as Deuteronomy 6 has outlined the church as the resource provider and the parents as the teacher. We will be sending out weekly emails with some materials that can be used and taught by parents at home. What a blessing that we can take a tragedy and shape it into a habit that is God pleasing and fits God’s design!

On this page you will find a virtual Sunday School plan for each week. Each study will include a devotional along with a Sunday School lesson. This devotional should be done as a family so everyone can participate and grow spiritually together! Also attached will be scans of the Christ Light take home sheets for each age group and a possible craft. These are being distributed this way with permission from NPH for the duration of the quarantine. Please note that the three-year-old lessons are on a different story. We still suggest using the devotional provided and also using their take home sheet or possibly using the PreK-K material.

Watch for an email of this format each week so that Sunday School can still be a part of your Sundays, with older lessons archived here on this page!
