Worship and Bible Class

No Monday Night Worship—There is no evening worship on Monday, May 30, in observance of Memorial Day. The church office and Grace Place Coffee will also be closed.

No Sunday Morning Bible Class—There is no Sunday morning Bible class today, Sunday, May 29, 2022.

A Great Cloud of Witnesses: A Study on Hebrews 11—Throughout the Bible we find countless stories of God’s faithfulness, along with countless stories of the people who remained faithful to him. Dive into the lives of the ‘great cloud of witnesses’ found in Hebrews 11 with this new Sunday morning Bible class, starting next Sunday, June 5. Find encouragement to imitate their faith as you run the race God has set before you! Sunday morning Bible class is offered at 9 and 10:15 a.m. in the Grace Center’s Great Hall, along with tasty treats, juice, and coffee.

New Podcast Series Beginning—Beginning this week, Most Certainly True, Grace’s Podcast, is starting a new series for the summer! Join them as they read through the book of Acts and review the history of the early Christian Church. One chapter will be discussed per episode, with two episodes being posted each week. Wedding at Grace—Victoria Charlson and Grace member Phillip Kieselhorst were united in marriage at Grace on Saturday, May 28. May God bless this couple in their new life together.

Seminary Assignments—The Lord in his wisdom over all things and love for all people has called graduates of Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary into the pastoral ministry. Also receiving their as­signments this week are young men who have completed their second year at Seminary, including Ryan Gurgel, who will serve as vicar at Abiding Grace in Covington, GA. All graduate and vicar assignments are posted on the semi­nary’s website, wisluthsem.org.

Grenada Trip Support—Whitney Stibb, Grace member and frequent volunteer barista at Grace Place Coffee, has the opportunity to go on a trip to Grenada through Kingdom Workers, working with physical, occupational and speech therapists and other health care providers to assess children with disabilities. First Fridays Presents—First Fridays returns on Friday, June 3, 2022 at 5 p.m. in the sanctuary with The Brusubardis Performers! The Brusubardis family performs music from baroque to 20th century written for voice, keyboard and string instruments, and have enjoyed sharing their music with audiences for the last 20 years. First Fridays is free to attend and open to the public (donations graciously accepted and go towards the artists and supporting the concert series). Babysitting FundraiserCraving a date night out? On Saturday, June 11, Grace Teens going to the Youth Rally are hosting a babysitting fundraiser from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. at Grace! Younger children will be in the nursery and older kids will be in the Heritage Room with a movie and other activities. A meal of chicken nuggets, applesauce, and veggies will be provided. This fundraiser will rely on freewill donations that will be split between the teens to lessen the cost of attending the rally. Please be sure that you make a donation upon dropping off your children. If you desire to make a donation without participating in the fundraiser, reach out to Drew Carter. Grace Church Picnic—The Grace Church Picnic returns! Join fellow Grace members at LaFollette Park (1100 S. 92nd St., West Allis—two blocks north of Greenfield Ave.) on Sunday, June 26 from noon until 3 p.m. There will be a bounce house for the kids as well as a corn hole tournament for anyone who wishes to participate. Sign-up sheets can be found in the Parish Center and Grace Center or online under the Connect tab on the Grace website. Please sign-up prior to June 23 so that we know how much food to order. Please bring a dish to pass. If anyone would like to bring a dessert in addition, it would be greatly appreciated! Hamburgers, hot dogs, all utensils and soft drinks are provided. WLHS Canoe for Sale—After the WLHS inaugural canoe club’s maiden voyage, you can now purchase their canoe! This student-made canoe comes with paddles and was tested on the Wisconsin River. Materials to make the canoe came to $1,500. The club is looking for a best offer purchase to help kick-start the costs for next year’s canoe. WELS Bargain Center Needs DonationsThe WELS Bargain Center exists to provide low cost necessities to the Milwaukee community, with proceeds given to area WELS ministries, including Wisconsin Lutheran Child & Family Service, New Beginnings, The Point of Grace, Wisconsin Lutheran Institutional Ministries, and Lighthouse Youth Centers. Because of increased business at the store, they are in need of donations! Household items, clothing, shoes, craft items, linens, etc. can be donated directly at the store, 8401 W. Lisbon Ave. from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday. (Sorry, they cannot take furniture.)
