Worship and Bible Class

No Sunday Morning Bible Class—This is a friendly reminder there is no Sunday morning Bible class for the month of August. Regular Sunday morning Bible class will return on Sunday, Sept. 11.

Coming in September! Grace Groups: A Small Group Ministry—In an effort to provide you with continued opportunities to build up and grow in important relationships with God and other believers, Grace is launching a small group ministry called Grace Groups. These small gatherings will give you the chance to get to know other members and together study God's Word, serve, have fun, support and encourage one another. More details are coming soon, but for now prayerfully consider this opportunity in your life of faith.

Semi-Annual Report from Council—Congregation president Jeff Hatzung sent out the semi-annual report the beginning of August. This report is part of an effort to keep congregants in the know regarding church operations throughout the year. New Events CoordinatorPlease join Grace in welcoming member Chelsie Mattek as the new events coordinator! Chelsie is the new contact for all inquiries regarding wedding ceremonies at Grace Church, as well as events such as Happy Hobby Hour, First Fridays, and the Grace Fine Art & Craft Festival. Wedding at Grace—Stephanie DeKorte and Grace member Gary Brueggemann were united in marriage at Grace on Saturday, August 13. May God bless this couple in their new life together.

Grace Block Party Volunteers WantedThe Grace Block Party committee is seeking volunteers to help day-of the event! Grace still needs 10-20 volunteers to help with a variety of tasks day-of the event! Parking ChangesBeginning at 9 a.m. next Sunday, Aug. 21, Broadway will be closed for the Grace Block Party and there will be no parking allowed between Knapp St. and Juneau Ave. Drop offs for worship will need to happen prior to 9 a.m. Drop offs for the 10:30 a.m. service can be made on Juneau Ave. Please plan accordingly. Thank you for your patience and accommodation for this new outreach event!

Annual Community Rummage Sale: Volunteers Needed—Grace’s annual community rummage sale returns on Saturday, Sept. 10, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Grace Center—and is need of volunteers! Volunteers are requested to help with load-in the day before (Friday, Sept. 9) as well as day-of load-out, guest check-in, and in general to provide a pleasant experience for attendees and vendors. First Fridays Presents Karen Beaumont and René IzquierdoFirst Fridays, Grace’s free monthly concert series, returns on Friday, Sept. 2, at 5 p.m. here in the sanctuary. Featuring Karen Beaumont, organ and René Izquierdo, guitar, this concert promises an evening of Spanish music. Grace Adopt-A-Student—Grace is continuing its Adopt-a-Student program this fall! This program is designed to encourage the faith of our college-bound members. Grace members will write to their “adopted student” at least twice a semester for the next school year. Additional notes, care packages, or other ways to offer encouragement and support to students are also welcome. To sign up for a student, contact Peggy Stone, stone.peggyj@gmail.com.

Job Opportunity: Barista—Grace Place Coffee is looking to hire a part-time barista to help out in the coffee shop during the week, with an estimated 7-12 hours per week (with the potential of additional hours if desired). Spiritual Growth for Christian Warriors Retreat—Join fellow Lutheran warriors for a spiritual retreat for any WELS/ELS members dealing with post-traumatic stress (PTSD) associated with military service.
