Sunday Morning Bible Class: Fall Series—As creatures under the Creator, we need to ask, “How do we spend our time, and how do we spend our time wisely?” Through King Solomon God answers those questions in a most unique book of the Bible, Ecclesiastes. Songs, Stories, and Studies—Attention all caregivers! Are you looking for fellowship with others as well as your little ones? Join fellow Grace caregivers for Songs, Stories, and Studies! Formerly known as Moms Group, Songs, Stories, and Studies will take place Fridays, 9:30-10:45 a.m. outside the nursery in the Parish Center twice a month (dates listed below). Kid time is 9:30-10 a.m., where kids can learn Bible stories, sing songs, and engage in other fun activities. Afterwards, kids head off to the nursery for some supervised free play, while the adults enjoy some coffee and time in the Bible with one of the Grace pastors. Grace Adopt-A-Student—Grace is continuing this program that is designed to encourage the faith of our college-bound members. Grace members will write to their “adopted student” at least twice a semester for the next school year. Doors Open Milwaukee—Grace is once again participating in this favorite annual event today! First Fridays Presents Stas Venglevski—Enjoy a free concert next Friday, Oct. 1, starting at 5 p.m. here in the Grace sanctuary. October’s First Fridays performance features Stas Venglevski on the bayan (button accordion). Enjoy works by Jeffes, Mores, Rachmaninoff, as well as original works! Concert is free (but donations are welcome) and open to the public, and will last approximately an hour.
Grace in Action October Event—Join Grace in Action to help harvest fruits and vegetables at the Hunger Task Force Farm (9000 S. 68th St., Franklin) on Tuesday, Oct. 5, 1-4 p.m. Open to ages 16 and up. Book Sale—The next podcast series with Most Certainly True will be spent going through a chapter at a time from the People’s Bible Teaching Series: Christian Worship. Ministry Anniversary Celebration—Please plan to join members on Sunday, Oct. 3, as we celebrate 40 years in the ministry for Pastor Joel Leyrer, 23 years of which have been at St. John’s. A celebratory worship service will be held at 2 p.m. at St. John's (7809 Harwood Ave.), followed by a casual reception in the school gymnasium.
