Sunday Morning Bible Class: Fall Series—As creatures under the Creator, we need to ask, “How do we spend our time, and how do we spend our time wisely?” Through King Solomon God answers those questions in a most unique book of the Bible, Ecclesiastes. Songs, Stories, and Studies: Fall Dates—Caregivers—are you looking for fellowship with others as well as for your little ones? Join fellow Grace caregivers for Songs, Stories, and Studies! Formerly known as Moms Group, meet ups will take place Fridays, 9:30-10:45 a.m. outside the nursery in the Parish Center twice a month (dates listed below). Kid time is 9:30-10 a.m., where kids can learn Bible stories, sing songs, and engage in other fun activities. Afterwards, kids head off to the nursery for some supervised free play, while the adults enjoy some coffee and time in the Bible with one of the Grace pastors. Grace Adopt-A-Student—Grace is continuing this program that is designed to encourage the faith of our college-bound members. Grace members will write to their “adopted student” at least twice a semester for the next school year. Book Sale—The current podcast series with Most Certainly True is going through a chapter at a time from the People’s Bible Teaching Series: Christian Worship. Fall Women’s Retreat at Grace—When you hear the words “authentic living,” what comes to mind? Those words get thrown around a lot these days as popular buzzwords, but what does true, authentic living look like for God’s people? Inspired by Candace Cameron Bure’s book of the same name, join fellow women of Grace on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021 and hear what keynote speaker and life coach Gina Grove has to say about authentic Christian living. Grace Social Media Photo Ask—Do you have fun memories and photos of events at Grace? Grace is looking to compile a digital archive of photos for future use on Grace’s social media channels, websites, and special event presentations. High resolution photos (in either .jpg or .png file format) are preferred, however scans of older, non-digital photos are welcome. WELS/ELS Singles Group Hiking Event—Join other WELS/ELS single for hiking at Pike Lake (S. Pike Lake Dr., Hartford) on Saturday, October 16 at 1:30 p.m. The group will park in the beach parking lot and determine their route, and hopefully see some fall foliage! LWMS Fall Rally—The Lutheran Women's Missionary Society (LWMS) Metro Milwaukee North Circuit Fall Rally will be held on Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021. Grace's own Pastor Aaron Strong will be the featured speaker, highlighting mission outreach at Grace in the Third Ward. Breakfast is 8-9 a.m.; rally is 9-noon, and will be held at Atonement Lutheran Church (4500 N. Sherman Boulevard, Milwaukee—parking lot entrance off Ruby). No pre-registration necessary. Please join mission-minded women (and men!) and learn about missions and opportunities to spread the Gospel, both here at home and around the world.
Luther Prep Presents Fall Production—Luther Prep presents No Place Like Nowhere, Saturday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 24, at 2:30 p.m. in the Luther Prep Auditorium (1300 Western Ave., Watertown). Tickets are $6 for general admission—no RSVP necessary. Ages 6 and under can attend for free!
