Lent at Grace—This year’s Lenten theme is “What Wondrous Love Is This?” Details on weekly service themes are listed below:

Mar. 18: Before the Sanhedrin
Mar. 25: Before Pilate
Apr. 1: In the Tomb

Services are Wednesdays, 12:10-12:40p.m. and 6:30 p.m. The seminary chorus performs a sacred concert on Apr. 1, at 7 p.m., in lieu of the evening service. Please join us as we reflect on Christ’s journey to the cross.

Lenten Suppers—Join your brothers and sisters in Christ for food and fellowship with midweek Lenten suppers! Served in the Grace Center, prior to each evening worship service, 5:30-6:15 p.m. (6-6:45 p.m. on Apr. 1). This year’s Lenten supper menu is as follows:

Mar. 18 Spaghetti & Garlic Bread & Salad
Mar. 25 Taco & Nacho Bar
Apr. 1 Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Beans & Coleslaw

A donation of $3 per child and $5 per adult is suggested. RSVP via the Grace website (under the Connect tab), or call the church office at 414-271-3006.
Can you help serve at a Lenten meal or bring a dessert to share? Contact the events office at events@gracedowntown.org or call 414-271-3006 to help prep, serve, or clean-up the meals.

Easter Flower Orders—Help adorn the altar and chancel for Easter with beautiful spring flowers! Pick up an envelope from the Parish Center counter and deposit it in the box with your payment. Selections and prices are listed on the envelopes. Please make checks payable to Grace Lutheran Church. Orders must be in today Mar. 15.

Grace Place Coffee: New Manager—Grace Place Coffee has hired a new manager! Paul Demcak, a member of St. John’s on the Hillside, will be joining Grace as the new coffee shop manager later this month. Please help him feel welcome and introduce yourselves if you see him.

First Fridays Presents Chant Claire—First Fridays presents Chant Claire’s “Faire is the Heaven,” on Friday, Apr. 3, at 5 p.m. in the sanctuary. Concert is free and open to the public, and will last approximately an hour., with light refreshments served post-concert.

Grace Bowl-a-Rama—Grace’s annual Bowl-a-Rama is scheduled for Sunday, Mar. 22, 2-4 p.m. at Riviera Lanes (8600 W. Greenfield Ave., West Allis). For $5 per person, you get two games and shoe rental! Sign up at the counter in the Parish Center, under the Connect tab on the Grace website, or email Drew Carter dcarter@gracedowntown.org. Space is limited; RSVP by tomorrow Mar. 16, 2020.

Grace in Action Shoe Drive—Don’t toss those shoes! Grace in Action will be collecting new or gently used shoes of all sizes Apr. 19-May 3, to donate to Africa. A collection bin will be placed in the Grace Center. Monetary donations can also be made, to help with postage, by leaving an envelope marked ‘Shoe Donation Postage’ in offering baskets (checks should be written to ‘Soles for Jesus, Inc.’). WELS Hymnal Project—The WELS Commission on Worship is preparing a new hymnal with supplementary resources, scheduled for release Fall 2021. Many of the new psalms, liturgy songs, and other elements of the new book have already become a regular part of worship at Grace. Copies of the Christian Worship Preview, courtesy of Northwestern Publishing House, are available in the Parish Center, and members are encouraged to peruse the booklets.
