Happening at Grace

Gracemade—Come for the last crafting session before summer! Set for Saturday, May 19, 8 a.m.-noon in the Heritage Room, the project will be making quilt squares with Cheryl Davidson. Over the summer months, feel free to make items on your own for donation. Regular crafting sessions will resume in September.

PrimeTime Presentation—
On Wednesday, May 23, WWII veteran Gene Schulz will present a slide show of The Gothic Cathedral of Notre Dame de Chartres, built southwest of Paris in the 12th century. The presentation tells the story of its construction—including 176 stained-glass windows which depict stories from the entire Bible—as well as the fascinating history of how it survived WWII without any damage. The lecture will be held 10:30-11:30 a.m. in the Grace Center classroom. Cost for lunch and honorarium is $12. Door Offering for Lucas Proeber—
Grace’s student senior
assistant Lucas Proeber will be preaching Sunday, May 27. As in years past, Grace will take a door offering for Lucas, to thank him for his year of service with us and to support and encourage him and his wife, Amy, as he continues to serve in the ministry.

Grace in Action June Event—
Join Grace in Action on Saturday, June 23, to plant flower beds with The Neighborhood House of Milwaukee, a local center offering programs for adults, teens, children, and immigrants. Learn more about the organization at

Grace is now seeking candidates for the following positions:

Events Director. This full-time position is responsible for planning, managing, and overseeing all Grace Center events and church events held at Grace. If you have a passion for working with people, the ability to share your faith, and experience in events, this is a great opportunity! Candidate must be a WELS member in good standing, willing to work evenings and weekends. Assistant Manager for Grace Place Coffee. Grace Place seeks a coffee lover, who wants to work a couple weekday mornings as well as a weekend or two a month to meet neighbors and members, serve great food and drinks, and help with day-to-day tasks. Youth Rally Chaperones Needed—
On June 26-29, teenagers from Grace will travel to Bowling Green, Ohio for the WELS National Youth Rally, and are looking for a male and female (either a couple or two individuals) to accompany the teens as chaperones on this trip. Sign Up for Summer VBS—
Summertime children’s ministry at Grace is back! Get ready for Splash Canyon, a fun adventure series running Sundays, June 3-July 29, 2018 for ages 3 through 12. Sign ups are available in the Grace and Parish Centers, as well as online at

Happening Around the WELS

WLHS Prism Concerts—WLHS Prism concerts will be held Friday, May 18 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, May 19 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, May 20 at 2:00 and 7:30 p.m. in the WLHS gymnasium. Enjoy the God-given talents of our student ensembles, solos, duets, choirs and bands. Advance tickets are $7 for adults and $4 for children. Tickets will also be available at the door, $8 for adults and $5 for children. Tickets are assigned first come, first served in one of four separate sections. Purchase tickets in person at the WLHS front office to reserve a specific table within a section, or by mail-in registration or online at wlhs.org/finearts. Register now for the Friends of Wisco Annual Charity Golf Outing set for Monday, June 18, at Hawk’s View Golf Club in Lake Geneva, Wis. New this year—choose between two different golf courses.
