Celebrate the New Year with Grace
New Year’s Eve - Monday, Dec. 31
New Year’s Eve Service, 6:30 p.m.
Celebrate the coming of the new year while thanking God for all his blessings in 2018, with Holy Communion.

Call Update—Grace has called Rev. Brian Hackmann of Eagle River, AK, to serve as an associate pastor of outreach. Please keep him, his family, and Grace in your prayers as he deliberates both his calls.

Out of Town—Pastor Huebner is out of town and is preaching at the 75th anniversary service at Bethany in Manitowoc, WI.

Save the Date: Open Forum & Congregational Meeting—Save the date for Sunday, Jan. 20, for the next open forum and congregational meeting. Join council president Josh Schermerhorn and council members at either 9 or 10:15 a.m. in the Great Hall of the Grace Center to hear about what’s next at Grace. Following the open fora, a congregational meeting will start at 11:45 a.m. for a vote on the 2019 budget. Light refreshments will be provided. Please note that there is no Sunday morning Bible class this day. Offering Envelopes for 2019—If you haven’t picked up your offering envelopes for 2019 yet, please do so! Envelopes can be found in the Parish Center lobby, on the Welcome Center counter. Those already enrolled in electronic giving are not assigned envelopes, but if you would still like a box of them, contact the church office or indicate this on the clipboard near the envelopes.

Flower Chart for 2019—Do you have a special anniversary, birthday, or celebration coming up? Consider sharing that joy with Grace with a gift of altar flowers! Sign-up on the chart in the narthex; 2019 dates are now available. Questions, contact the church office by calling 414-271- 3006 or email

Meal Assistance Requested—Long time Grace member John Daly has requested assistance with meals. His wife, Ginny, an active Grace member who serves as flower coordinator and wedding host, recently suffered a stroke and is currently undergoing rehab. Please consider helping the Dalys so John may focus his time on Ginny as she is recovering. Go to for more details and to sign up for making meals. St. Marcus Food Pantry—Grace supports the St. Marcus Food Pantry by collecting food items in the Parish Center. Specific food needs are currently as follows: canned vegetables (corn, peas, green beans), canned fruit (peaches, pears, applesauce), canned soups (chicken noodle, chicken rice, vegetable), spaghetti noodles and sauce, egg noodles, tuna fish in water, pancake mix and syrup, macaroni and cheese, corn muffin mix, ramen noodles (chicken or beef), and saltine crackers. As always, your donations are much appreciated!

Lost and Found—The lost and found is overflowing with an abundance of coats, scarves, gloves, and random accessories. Missing something? Items are on display in the Parish Center; be sure to stop by and take a look to see if any long lost items of yours will be found! All remaining items will be donated after the first of the year.

First Fridays presents The Music of Bach—Organist Karen Beaumont returns to the series along with cellist Viktor Brusubardis for an all-Bach program. Concert is Friday, Jan. 4 at 5 p.m. in the sanctuary. Concerts last about an hour, and are free and open to the public.

Happy Hobby Hour: Game Night—Grab your favorite board games and come on down to the Grace Center’s Great Hall on Friday, Jan. 11 at 5:30 p.m., for an evening of fun and fellowship! Grace Book Club 2019 Titles Announced—Is one of your New Year’s resolutions to read more? Consider joining Grace’s Book Club! The club meets the third Tuesday of every month in Grace Place Coffee. Gracemade Updates & Upcoming Projects—Gracemade has now donated almost 300 items to local people in need! Upcoming dates and projects are listed below:

Volunteers for Night to Shine—Night To Shine, an unforgettable prom night event for individuals with special needs ages 14 and older, is set for Friday, Feb. 8, from 5:30-9 p.m. in the Grace Center, and volunteers are needed. Happening Around the WELS

WLHS Installation Service—A special installation celebration service for new WLHS staff will be held on Sunday, Jan. 13, at 3 p.m. at Pilgrim Ev. Lutheran Church (W156 N5436 Bette Drive, Menomonee Falls). Academic Dean Mr. Jim Brandt and Mission Advancement Chief Development Officer Mr. John Sebald will be installed. Lutheran Vanguard is Recruiting for Summer 2019!—Attention WELS and ELS high school band musicians (including current 8th grade students and soon-to-be 12th grade graduates!) are invited to join Lutheran Vanguard (LV) for their Summer 2019 marching band tour around the Midwest!
