Worship Support

Worship is at the heart of Grace Church. Four weekly services (three on Sunday morning, one on Monday evening) and special services throughout the year provide plenty of opportunities to enrich your faith.

Organists, instrumentalists, musicians, choirs, ushers, and greeters visibly serve in worship. Behind the scenes, a tech crew for Internet service broadcasts, altar guild, nursery staff, and more all come together to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ each week.

Grace Choir

The Grace Choir is the main choir for congregational worship and is involved often on Sunday mornings from September through May. They typically prepare music for the psalm of the day, the verse of the day, and an anthem. They also prepare for a popular and special Lessons and Carols service on the Fourth Sunday of Advent each year.

Time: 9:00 a.m. & 10:30 a.m. worship services only; rehearsals are on Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. for an hour or more. Some Thursdays are off.

Place: Rehearsals are in the Trinity Room below the Grace sanctuary.

Ensemble Singers for monthly Alternative Services

A mixed group (SATB) of four singers leads the congregation through the alternative services held on the first Sunday of each month. Currently, we have four ensembles involved that rotate based on their personal schedules. Rehearsals are scheduled by the group leaders and usually require only a little practice before Sunday morning.

Time: All Sunday morning services (7:45, 9:00, and 10:30 a.m.), but not Monday night.

Place: Rehearsals are in the Trinity Room below the Grace sanctuary.

Men’s Choir

The Men’s Choir is scheduled three or four times a year to prepare the psalm, verse and an anthem for their Sunday. All male singers are welcome.

Time: 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. worship services only; Rehearsals are often on the Saturday morning and/or Sunday morning before the 9:00 a.m. worship service.

Place: Rehearsals are in the Trinity Room below the Grace sanctuary.

Women’s Choir

The Women’s Choir is scheduled three or four times a year to prepare the psalm, verse and an anthem for their Sunday. All who can sing are welcome.

Time: 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. worship services only; Rehearsals are often on the Saturday morning and/or Sunday morning before the 9:00 a.m. worship service.

Place: Rehearsals are in the Trinity Room below the Grace sanctuary.

Motet Choir

The Motet Choir is a fantastic small choir of about a dozen highly capable singers who can sight read music fairly easily and can handle singing their part without much support. This choir is scheduled six to eight times per calendar year. They don’t spend much time in rehearsal, but work privately on music ahead of time.

Time: 9:00 a.m. & 10:30 a.m. worship services only

Place: Rehearsals are in the Trinity Room below the Grace sanctuary.

Instrumentalists

Grace has been blessed with many talented instrumentalists: men and women who play the organ, brass, string and woodwind instruments, guitars, percussion....and all of them are put to good use in our worship. Most of the instrumentalists invited to play are active players, meaning they’ve continued to hone their skills since high school. They also receive an honorarium that recognizes their effort to be skilled players.
