Nursery News

Plans for the NEW staffed nursery are underway! Now we are looking for adult volunteers who would be willing to staff the nursery for 1 – 1.5 hours a month. If you have longed for the opportunity to attend Bible class at Grace, the nursery would provide you with this opportunity by having a place for your young children to be nurtured in a safe environment. To learn more about assisting with the Sunday nursery care, please contact Julie Langebartels (414-294-8105 or langebartels21 @ yahoo.com) or Chris Midthun (414-769-6415 or chrismidthun @ wi.rr.com).

Grace Choirs

Recent studies indicate that members and visitors rate public worship at Grace to be an excellent aspect of our ministry.  An important part of public worship is the ministry of the choirs.  The larger ensemble, the Grace Choir, begins its work at an initial rehearsal on Thursday, August 28, at 7:00 p.m.  Rehearsals take place in the lower level of the church with access either via the parking lot entrance or the Juneau Avenue entrance.  Rehearsals end at 8:30 p.m.  All members who have choral experience are invited to give the Grace Choir a try.  A second choir, the Motet Choir, is a group of select singers with more extensive choral experience.  If you feel you would like to be contacted to participate in the Motet Choir, contact the director of music, James Tiefel at tiefelj @ wls.wels.net.

Bible Information Class

You are invited to a class designed to offer a non-threatening atmosphere for people to discover more about God and the Bible, and to become acquainted with what we teach and believe at Grace. It is intended to answer any and all religious questions you always wanted to ask, like:
How did we get the Bible, and can we trust it?
Do I really have a guardian angel?
What's the difference between denominations?
Why does God allow bad things to happen?
How can I really be optimistic about Judgment Day?
The class, taught by the Grace pastors, prepares any participant for membership at Grace, but being in the class doesn't obligate you to become a member. We want you to feel free to question and explore, so we allow plenty of time for questions and discussion. Bibles and class materials are gladly provided.  Class is casual and fun! And there's food! We'll begin on Thursday, September 4 at 7:00 p.m. in the Grace Center. Classes will continue on Thursday evenings for nine weeks, and we will gladly meet for "make up" work with those who must miss a class or two of the series. Please contact the church office at mail @ gracedowntown.org or 414-271-3006 to indicate your participation and receive instructions for free parking.
