Trust That the Lord Is Bringing Final Deliverance

This universe will one day end. What is our attitude toward the coming of The End? Knowing that we will be face to face with God and our eternal destiny, what attitude fills our hearts—fear? dread? anxiety? How about faith! Our worship today focuses on trust that he builds in our hearts as we look to his final deliverance.

Sermon on Revelation 22:6-13 preached at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church by Pastor Daniel Bondow.

Prayer:

Almighty God and Savior, you have set the final day and hour when we shall be delivered from this world of sin and death. Keep us ever watchful for the coming of your Son that we may sit with him and all your holy ones at the marriage feast in heaven; through Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Brace Yourself for the Dreadful Days of the End of Time

Jesus warns us that the days that precede the end of time will not be easy for believers. Our faith in Christ readies us for these difficult days and gives us confident joy as we look forward to our Savior’s return.

Sermon on Luke 21:5-19 preached at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church by Pastor Aaron Strong.

Prayer:

Lord God Almighty, so rule and govern our hearts and minds by your Holy Spirit that we may always look forward to the end of this present evil age and to the day of your righteous judgment. Keep us steadfast in true and living faith and present us at last holy and blameless before you; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God now and forever. Amen.

Look Forward to the Best Which is Yet to Come

Faith cares little about the details of life in heaven with God but simply looks forward to the day when all believers will be with the Lord forever.

Sermon on Isaiah 65:17-25 preached at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church by Pastor Brian Hackmann.

Prayer:

Living God, your almighty power is made known chiefly in showing mercy and pity. Grant
us the fullness of your grace to lay hold of your promises and live forever in your presence; through Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.  Amen.

Pastor Huebner returns as guest as we review Paul's letter to the Romans and what it has meant to readers past and present, giving us many favorite passages (like Wanda's). Don't be intimidated by the depth of this book. Paul poses hard question after question in a way that helps you see God's perfect answers to all our challenges. God's message through Christ gets to the heart of what matters most and sets you free to live in faith's clarity and to demonstrate God's love.

Sermon on Luke 6:27-38 preached at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church by Pastor Aaron Strong.
Life with a forgiving Savior ha an impact on our lives with others, even those who make our lives difficult and unhappy. Our everyday prayer is that Jesus would use his love to move us to love one another. In Luke 6, Jesus teaches us to be merciful, just as our heavenly Father is merciful.

Heavenly Father, keep your family continually in true faith, so that those who rely only on the hope of your heavenly grace may be protected by your mighty power, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Pastors Bondow and Strong consider the kings and prophets at play in the book of 1 Kings. Also, how is reading a long book like this similar to enduring a long winter? Bonus: why some Bible names are so great for our kids. Thanks for listening and God bless your Bible reading!

Sermon on Luke 9:28-36 preached at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church by Pastor Daniel Bondow.

Then and now, the road to the cross is difficult and treacherous. Jesus prepared three of his followers for the journey to Calvary by enabling them to see some of the brilliance of his divine
majesty and to hear the witness of two Old Testament prophets. The disciples didn’t grasp what they saw and heard, but we understand the significance of the transfiguration and are
strengthened as we begin our walk through the rigors of Lent. What happened that day on the mountaintop counsels us on the way of the cross.

The book of Proverbs is more than just a collection of sayings that sound smart; it's an entire way of life that draws on God's love and trusts in him. Don't be fooled by a superficial reading of its content. This is another chance to be caught up in God's goodness and the blessings he has in mind in all settings of our lives.

"What is the point?" Rather than just being a repeated and frequent question that comes up when you read Ecclesiastes, this book helps you learn that this question is a crucial stepping stone to getting an answer. Ecclesiastes is a cleanser that will de-clutter your life and bring a relationship with God into vital - all or nothing - focus. And don't forget - "it's a wonderful, beautiful, horsey day."

Listen as Pastor Bondow and guest Drew Carter, Staff Minister at Grace, discuss the timeless tone, topics and goals of Paul's letter called 1 Thessalonians. The apostle Paul emphasizes a number of peculiar gifts we enjoy by God's grace - a faith assimilation into a larger body of believers in Christ, connectivity that features a mutual longing for one another and desire to encourage and build others up. This "model congregation" is urged to do more and more, and especially considering the hope we have in the face of death and the Last Day.

Sermon on Philippians 3:17-4:1 preached at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church by Pastor Daniel Bondow.
The Lord Jesus was not deterred from his march to the cross by danger and rejection. He was determined to save the world from sin—even those who despised and rejected him. Jesus gives us his example and encouragement as we face opposition in our world today. In this section from Philippians, we see how the apostle Paul urged believers stand firm in the Lord in the face of opposition.

The Song of Solomon may not be the book of the Bible used the most, but it involves a dramatic telling of the depth that is present in Christian marriage. Listen in not only to consider the meaning of this special Song of Scripture, but also how to make use of it. Plus, this book of the Bible makes a special argument for our persistence as Bible readers in general so that we gain the blessings of familiarity with the "whole of Scripture" and all God has to say to us.

Apologies for the audio quality. We are aware of what caused the "double sound" feedback and hopefully it won't happen again. =)

Sermon on Exodus 3:1-15 preached at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church by Pastor Jim Huebner.
Jesus came to our world with a deep love for sinners, but his patience with disobedience eventually wears thin. As we explore the Lord’s relationship with his Old Testament people, the Spirit urges us to put sin behind us and turn to Christ in faith, for he loves to forgive. In Exodus 3, God reveals himself to Moses and calls Moses to rescue God's people.

God, whose glory it is always to have mercy, be gracious to all who have gone astray from
your ways and bring them again with penitent hearts and steadfast faith to embrace and hold
fast the unchangeable truth of your Word; through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
