Do What You Want & See If God Cares: A Bible Study on the Book of Judges
New! Sunday Morning Bible Class
June 7-July 19
Picture yourself driving down a freeway on a long trip. Suddenly, your tires hit a stretch of gravel and potholes, and you find yourself weaving between huge, heavy construction machinery. Where were the orange barrels and warning signs? Now imagine living your life with no clue on how to deal with the reality of life’s “gravel and potholes.” You might wonder where were the warning signs? God wants us to understand the realities of life and to be able to cope with life’s “gravel and potholes,” so he posts a huge warning sign. It’s called the Book of Judges. Join us, for Sunday Bible Hour beginning June 7, 2020, live streamed at 10:15 a.m. and available on our YouTube channel and posted later in the week here on the Grace website. See below for each week's topic and focus:
7 “Stick It to the Bad Guys”
14 “When Men Are Worthless ...”
21 “Against All Odds”
28 “Who Are These Guys?”
5 “Only the Strong Survive”
12 “The Rest of the Story ... and It Isn’t Pretty” (part 1)
19 “The Rest of the Story ... and It Isn’t Pretty” (part 2)
New Summer Reading Challenge with Grace—Join Most Certainly True and Grace members this summer in reading the entire New Testament! Focusing on the last 27 books of the Bible, readings consist of five days a week, with an occasional six-day week here and there. Download and print a schedule by clicking HERE, grab a Bible (or your mobile device of choice) and get started! This plan will also be available on YouVersion, an app that allows you to stay connected with fellow readers, track your progress, and load each day's reading--less work for you and it even comes with audio options (if it's not there now, it will be by the first of June)! Let's consume the Bible together this summer, by being on the (literal) same page!
Spam Emails from Pastor Huebner—Unfortunately, various members have been reporting that spam emails, claiming to come from Pastor Huebner "asking for a favor" with no details as to what the favor is, are once again being sent to them. Please do not engage with these emails! Send them to your spam folder, report them to Google directly, or alert our communications coordinator Amanda Schumacher. All official Grace email communication comes through a MailChimp account (like the weekly weekend worship email), and all called workers and staff email addresses are not Gmail address--official email addresses will always feature @gracedowntown.org as the address. At this trying time of reaching members electronically, please use discernment and double check email addresses before responding to anyone. Thank you!
Gracemade: Creating and Donating Homemade Face Masks—"I can't tell you how big of a smile and appreciative gasp I got from our director of nursing when I gave them to her this morning." Gracemade continues to do their part and make homemade face masks to donate to local nursing homes in an effort to help with the current shortage, and has donated over 1000 masks to date! Would you like to help make a mask, or know of an organization in need? Contact Rachel LaMantia at firstname.lastname@example.org to see how you can help.
Grace in Action: Shoe Drive—Grace in Action will be postponing the shoe drive for Africa until Grace Church is able to reopen. Please watch for future email communications or GraceNotes for details as to how and when Grace Place Coffee will re-open.
