Call Returned—Rev. Nathan O. Sutton has returned the call to serve as an associate pastor at Grace. We will schedule the next call meeting when we have a better handle on the sequence of events as this "safer-at-home" mandate draws to a close. Watch your email and the Grace Facebook page for updates!

Asleep in Jesus—Our God called Grace member Lance Raschka to his eternal home Monday, April 27. A graveside service will be held at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Milwaukee at a later date. In our prayers we remember those who mourn.

Spam Emails from Pastor Huebner—Unfortunately, various members have been reporting that spam emails, claiming to come from Pastor Huebner "asking for a favor" with no details as to what the favor is, are once again being sent to them. Please do not engage with these emails! Send them to your spam folder, report them to Google, or alert our communications coordinator Amanda Schumacher. All official Grace email communication comes through a MailChimp account (like the weekly weekend worship email), and all called workers and staff email addresses are not Gmail address--official email addresses will always feature @gracedowntown.org as the address. At this trying time of reaching members electronically, please use discernment and double check email addresses before responding to anyone. Thank you!

Men's Bible Study—Men always need encouragement and support (whether they admit it or not) especially during a time like this. What better time than now to gather online and spend some time in God's Word? Pastor Aaron Strong is leading a four-week weekly Bible study for men through Zoom meetings. If you are interested in participating, contact Pastor Strong at astrong@gracedowntown.org.

Gracemade: Creating and Donating Homemade Face Masks—"I can't tell you how big of a smile and appreciative gasp I got from our director of nursing when I gave them to her this morning." Gracemade continues to do their part and make homemade face masks to donate to local nursing homes in an effort to help with the current shortage, and have donated almost 1000 masks to date! Would you like to help make a mask, or know of an organization in need? Contact Rachel LaMantia at gracemademke@gmail.com to see how you can help.

Grace in Action: Shoe Drive—Grace in Action will be postponing the shoe drive for Africa until Grace Church is able to reopen. However, if you are cleaning out closets during this stay-at-home time, please save old shoes to be donated to Africa. Questions, contact Kathy Schlecht at kathyschlecht3@gmail.com, 414-870-5221.

Grace Place Coffee: New Manager—While Grace Place Coffee has closed due to COVID-19, the good news is it has hired a new manager! Paul Demcak, a member of St. John’s on the Hillside, will be joining Grace as the new coffee shop manager. Please help him feel welcome and introduce yourselves when the shop is open again! Please watch for future email communications or GraceNotes for details as to how and when Grace Place Coffee will re-open.

WELS Hymnal Project—The WELS Commission on Worship is preparing a new hymnal with supplementary resources, scheduled for release Fall 2021. Many of the new psalms, liturgy songs, and other elements of the new book have already become a regular part of worship at Grace. For a sneak peek at what you can expect, CLICK HERE. For questions or feedback, Contact Kevin Becker, Minister of Music, at kbecker@gracedowntown.org.
