Lent Begins—Grace holds midweek Lenten services at 12:10 p.m. (a shorter service, a great alternative for those who work downtown) and at 6:30 p.m.

This year’s theme is Ponder the Passion:

Lenten Suppers—
Take a break from the kitchen, and instead join your brothers and sisters in Christ for food and fellowship with midweek Lenten suppers! Meals are served prior to each evening worship service, 5:45-6:30 p.m. in the Grace Center Great Hall.

Easter Flower Orders—Help adorn the altar for Easter with beautiful spring flowers! Pick up an envelope from the Parish Center counter and deposit it in the box with your payment. Selections and prices are listed on the envelopes. Please make checks payable to Grace Lutheran Church. Orders must be in by Sunday, April 7.

Clean up the Church for Easter—All Grace members are invited to help get our beautiful church building ready for Easter! Join us for a little spring cleaning on Saturday, Apr. 13, from 9:30-11 a.m. Lend a hand with general cleaning, polishing trim and woodwork, changing light bulbs, etc. If you can help, sign up in the Parish Center or Grace Center or email Drew Carter at dcarter@gracedowntown.org. Arrive at the church entryway and work for as long as fits your schedule.

Grace in the Ward One Year Anniversary—Celebrate one year of ministry at Grace in the Ward on Sunday, Apr. 7! After the service, stick around in the second floor Salon at the Broadway Theatre Center and join Pastor Strong and attendees for food, fellowship, and planning future ministry in the Ward. Smoked meat, cake, and drinks will be provided; please bring a side to share. Questions, contact Pastor Strong at astrong@gracedowntown.org.

Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary Chorus Concert—The Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary Chorus, under the direction of Prof. James Tiefel, Minister of Music at Grace, presents a concert on Wednesday, Apr. 10 at 7 p.m., in lieu of the Lenten worship service. This concert is an annual tradition at Grace. The last Lenten supper will be served prior to the concert, 5:45-6:30 p.m. in the Grace Center Great Hall.

Easter Brunch—Join Grace on Easter Sunday, Apr. 21, for a delicious breakfast in the Great Hall from 7:15-10:45 a.m. Volunteers are needed to help set-up, serve and clean-up—contact Drew Carter to offer your assistance. Grace members are also asked to bring food items, such as hard-boiled or deviled eggs, ham, cheese, fruit, and bakery items. Sign-up sheets are located in the Grace Center, or email list of items to Veronica Brewer at vbrewer@gracedowntown.org.

First Fridays Presents the Lovas Jazz Quartet—Celebrate the start of spring with the “The Melody Lingers On: The Music of the Gerswhin Brothers,” featuring the Lovas Jazz Quartet! Concert is Friday, Apr. 5, beginning at 5 p.m. in the sanctuary. Concert is free and open to the public; donations are appreciated. Concert will last approximately an hour; light refreshments will be served afterwards.

Happy Hobby Hour: D.I.Y. Easter Egg Dyeing—Get practice in before the relatives come over with the Happy Hobby Hour event for April! Held in the church’s Heritage Room, this hobby hour is perfect for all ages, so bring your friends, family, or kids for a fun night! Cost is $5, and includes drink ticket, supplies for dyeing eggs, and raffle entry. RSVP online, under the Connect tab, or call the church office at 414-271-3006.
