Easter Brunch—All are invited to the Grace Center (just around the corner, down Juneau Ave.) after worship today to enjoy a delicious Easter breakfast in the Great Hall from 7:15-10:45 a.m. The bountiful feast features hard-boiled and scrambled eggs, ham and meats, cheeses, fruit and bakery items. Grace in Action April Donation Drive—During the entire month of April, Grace in Action is conducting a donation drive for the Cathedral Center, a homeless shelter for women and families. Donated items can be placed in the designated bin located in the Grace Center on Sundays or during the week between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Items needed include pillows, linens, diapers, new underwear, $5 and $10 gift cards to Walmart and CVS, portfolios, flash drives, and individually wrapped snacks. Ladies’ Morning Tea—All women are invited to an inspiration filled morning tea on Saturday, Apr. 27, 9 a.m.-noon in the Grace Center Great Hall. The focus for this event is “Be Still...and Know,” which continues the theme for the year. Childcare will be provided. Annual Beer Pairing Dinner—Kick off summer and beer garden season early with a beer-pairing dinner, featuring Lakefront Brewery and Lisa Kaye Catering! View the full menu HERE. First Fridays Presents Unique Voices—On Friday, May 3, beginning at 5 p.m., enjoy “Unique Voices,” featuring soprano Alicia Berneche. The program includes Poulenc’s “Fiancailles pour rire,” Argento’s “Miss Manners on Music,” and a set by female Czech composer Vítězslava Kaprálová. Grace member Maggie Rebers will accompany her on the piano. Concert is free and open to the public; donations are appreciated. Concert will last approximately an hour; light refreshments will be served afterwards in the entryway of the sanctuary.

Hackmann Installation Set for Sunday, May 19
Sunday, May 19, is the day we welcome Pastor Brian Hackmann and his family to Grace! The installation service for Pastor Hackmann will take place at 5 p.m. in the sanctuary, with a “Welcome to Milwaukee” dinner following the service in the Great Hall, beginning at 6 p.m. RSVP for the dinner no later than Wednesday, May 8 HERE or call the church office at 414-271-3006.

Hackmann Gift Registry—At Pastor Hackmann’s installation dinner, Grace will present the Hackmann family with a table of gifts, courtesy of Grace leadership, members, and staff. Our events staff has put together a fun, “Welcome to Milwaukee Hackmann Family” registry, which features several Milwaukee-themed items, and gifts ranging from $5-$250, so there is plenty of variety for every budget.

You can also donate food and pantry items for their new home or gift your time to set up and/or take down the event. You can also gift a check to off-set the cost of the dinner. Monetary gifts can be given electronically (if you already have that set up), or you may place a check in an envelope in the offering plate (make the check out to Grace Lutheran Church, and place “Hackmann Installation” in the memo section). Brewers Game with Grace—On Friday, June 21 at 7:10 p.m., the Milwaukee Brewers take on the Cincinnati Reds and we want you to be a part of it! Grace has limited tickets for a section of Loge Infield Box seats; tickets are $22 each. Payment will be required prior to the event and to reserve your tickets. Kayak the Milwaukee River with Rooted MKE—Enjoy a day of kayaking on the Milwaukee River Saturday, June 22, 1-5 p.m. The cost is $20 per person, thanks to Grace generously subsidizing this event (normally $35 per person). This event is kid friendly and open to everyone, so bring your friends, family, and coworkers! For those 21 and over, drinks are allowed in the kayaks, and the 21+ group will be docking at a few bars for drinks. Please read Milwaukee Kayak Co.’s waiver on their website and RSVP to Josh Grefe by June 7 via rootedmke@gmail.com to ensure there are enough kayaks for all!

Church Picnic—Sunday, June 23, is the date for the annual Grace Church Picnic! Picnic starts at noon at LaFollette Park (1100 S. 92nd St., West Allis—two blocks north of Greenfield Ave). Please bring a dish to pass, or a dessert to share! Hamburgers, hot dogs, all utensils and soft drinks will be provided. If you’d like adult beverages, you may bring your own. A freewill offering will be taken to help off-set the cost of the picnic. Sign-up sheets are located in both the Parish Center and Grace Center.
