Come and hear the Wisconsin Seminary Chorus on Sunday, Feb. 18 at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church (804 W. Vliet St., Milwaukee), the largest and one of the most historic churches in WELS. The congregation was founded in 1848, and its 1889 twin-spired edifice still stands at the corner of Eighth and Vliet Streets, just across the river from downtown Milwaukee. Pastored by two presidents of WELS, its parsonage served as “synodical headquarters” for over 50 years. Sadly separated from our synod for a number of years, St. John’s On the Hillside is back in the family—now with a new name—and looking forward to reaching out in its growing neighborhood with the gospel of Jesus.
