Worthy
Sometimes love hurts.

In the gospel read in many churches yesterday Jesus said, “Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me” (Matthew 10:37).
I have a note written in my Bible next to that statement of Jesus that says: Think of what Jesus’ mother went through because of his love for his Father.
Sometimes love hurts. Sometimes priorities are painful. But in the process we find what we wouldn’t otherwise receive. “Whoever loses his life for my sake will find it,” Jesus promised (v. 39). And then he did it. A worthy Savior!
