Making Change
New security threads, micro printing, watermarks, and ultraviolet detection, allow experts and non-experts to detect a counterfeit bill quickly.
It’s time to make change, according to the U.S. House Monetary Policy Subcommittee. They are the ones responsible for introducing new twenty five cent pieces every ten weeks based on the different states in our country.
Today the face of America’s money is changing more than any time in 75 years. The $5, $10, and $20 bills have been revamped; now there’s a new fifty and next year a new Ben Franklin. The design of the nickel was changed this year for the first time in 66 years. Why are we making such a fuss about the $716 billion in cash and coins being circulated globally?
To thwart counterfeiters. New security threads, micro printing, watermarks, ultraviolet detection, and enlarged numbers that shift to the naked eye as the bill is tilted allow experts and non-experts to detect a counterfeit quickly. That’s positive change for the average consumer. But it’s bad news for bad guys who have been illegally operating the very Swiss-made presses previously used to print U.S. currency.
Please be careful of the spiritual counterfeiting that is taking place in your life! The devil has tremendous ability to masquerade, to make something extremely evil appear very valuable. You know, like when Jesus talked referred to a wolf in sheep’s clothing. An addictive behavior. A coveted promotion that requires sacrificing special relationships. A contemporary conclusion that totally disagrees with God’s truth. Counterfeit. Fake. Empty.
So, if you’re a victim of the devil’s fraud, it’s time to make some change! Throw the devil off his established pattern of crime by changing your perception of success. Jesus said to those who wanted to be the greatest, “Unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 18:3). So do it. Make change. Alter your expectations so that they concur with God’s miraculous promises. Add features to your day like prayer and Bible reading. Toss out the sinful pattern of living and take heart in Jesus’ forgiveness. Turn away from temptation. Network with more Godly people. Add a few Christian websites to your favorites (might I suggest http://www.gracedowntown.org/ or http://www.whataboutjesus.com/ ).
Sure, change is scary. It’s not the easy and natural way. But many times it is the preferred activity to doing nothing. Unless you’re a counterfeiter.
PRAYER: Whatever is fake in me, Lord, let me see and help me change. Wherever the devil is defrauding me, Lord, help me to walk away and change. Whenever I have been a hypocrite, Lord, forgive my insincerity and give me new opportunities to be genuine for the sake of others and your glorious name. Amen.
