Quick Questions

What kind of a church is Grace?

The altar at the front of Grace

God’s grace welcomes you, no matter who you are or where you come from – and so do we. First and foremost, Grace is a Christian church. We believe that Jesus Christ is the true Savior of all people. By his perfect life, innocent death, and triumphant resurrection he saves all lost sinners even without our help.

Jesus Christ makes us special people, right with God and ready for life! We learn this from the Bible, God’s authentic message of grace and guidance for us. This is where we also learn to appreciate the mystery and mercy of the triune God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Every Grace member is informed and involved as part owner in our mission to glorify God, grow in his word, and go with the Word to the world. Three full-time ministers lead the church in this mission.

Grace is a Lutheran church affiliated with the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod.

Who are Grace members?

Members enjoying fellowship.

You will find a delightful diversity of people at Grace representing all ages and walks of life. Local college students, suburban families, east side singles, downtown empty nesters, seniors, and newly married couples make Grace a place to feel welcome.

Over 43% of members have joined within the last eight years to offer Grace a fresh and friendly atmosphere. The largest age demographic in the church is the 21 to 34-year-old group (39%). And about half of the members live within ten miles of the church, while the other half travel from the outer metro area to enjoy a thriving downtown church.

How do I get to Grace and find parking?

Grace is nestled in the heart of downtown Milwaukee, WI.

Over 200 street parking spots are available within a 2 block radius of the church. View a map of Grace’s location and get directions.

What are the services like?

Worship at Grace.

Grace worship services blend the excellence of old and new with historical architecture, classic music, and modern messages for 21st century people. The service settings offer a variety of styles, involve worshipers in sung and spoken responses, and provide a fulfilling worship experience to the experienced Lutheran and curious observer alike. Worship at Grace is both reverential and relevant.

Service times are Sundays at 8, 9:30, and 11 a.m. and Mondays at 6:30 p.m. Dress as you would for any other downtown destination of choice; we're not particular and are glad to welcome over one hundred visitors for services each weekend. A staffed children's nursery is available during the 9:30 and 11 a.m. services.
